We care about your environment and about the environment.

An accepted definition of sustainability is, “to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

The term “green” is often used as a synonym for “earth-friendly.” To be green is to recognize that nature is a foundation for human life and that the processes of nature set limits and possibilities for human life.

Building Arts practices green construction for the following reasons:

1) To reduce reliance on non-renewable natural resources, such as coal and oil, and to increase the use of renewable resources such as solar and wind.
2) So that renewable resources such as timber can be maintained over time.
3) To reduce reliance on toxic substances that do not readily break down in nature.
4) To use all resources as efficiently as possible.
5) To sustain and enhance existing buildings.
