Building Arts is a full service residential remodeling design and construction company with an emphasis on and expertise in sustainable, or green, construction.
Harvey Sherman, who is the leader of Building Arts, has worked in the design and building industry for over 25 years as a registered, practicing Architect, as a teacher and residential remodeling contractor.
Prior to starting Building Arts in 1997, he was a remodeling Project Manager for 4 years and completed a wide variety of highly successful projects. Much of his work has been on older homes. Mr. Sherman has also been instrumental in creating the design for the acclaimed Park Place neighborhood in Farmington, MN., working with home builders to produce affordable and community-oriented houses.
From 1983-85 he directed A New American House, the national architectural competition to design a prototypical house in which a family could simultaneously live and work. The competition was sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts.
